Next time you are driving down a busy arterial with on-street parking, imagine you are on a bicycle riding just a couple of feet from those parked cars. Then imagine someone opens a car door or starts pulling out just as you approach. What do you do? Hit the brakes? Might be too late to stop. Swerve into traffic lane? That doesn’t seem like a good plan either. Chances are this won’t end well for the bicyclist and the person getting out of the car.
KCLS, Redmond– TSI conducted parking studies at this branch to document parking needs for new libraries. The study not only included parking utilization but gathered information on how utilization fluctuated during the day and into the evening.
TSI has assisted the Muckleshoot Tribe with transportation analyses, design review and traffic management for a variety of tribal facilities, including renovations, relocations and expansions their gaming facilities, parking facilities, retail shops.
At the Kaiser Sunnyside Campus in Portland, Oregon, TSI evaluated the effects of program changes and medical center expansion on parking demand. This forecast was used as a basis for planning new parking structures and managing general parking requirements.
TSI has worked in bringing and expanding the presence of Whole Foods to the Central Puget Sound Region. We helped establish the first store at 65th and Roosevelt in Seattle in urban environments on a constrained mixed use site. The mixed use site required careful integration of parking, loading and access with shared-use structured parking and constrained truck loading conditions.
TSI has partnered with Haggen on several Top Foods/Haggen grocery stores located in Shoreline, Olympia, Mount Vernon, Ferndale, Bellingham, Sehome, Tumwater and Stanwood. TSI has provided initial feasibility and planning consulting, transportation impact analysis, roadway alignment and intersection reconfigurations, and participated in developing improvement cost-sharing strategies.
