Waterfront Parking Strategies Development

This project involved development of a series of strategies to address a dynamic and ever changing waterfront that has developed from a commercial working waterfront to a mixed use area that is used by local residents and employees all year with surging tourist demands during the summer. After a multitude of parking studies, this effort concentrated on developing solutions. Existing data was selectively updated and tourist attitudes were surveyed as a basis for developing and evaluating operational, programmatic, management, and physical construction alternatives. These were developed in concert with key stakeholders (City, Aquarium, Pike Place Market, and Downtown Business). This strategic approach was applied to respond to the wide and continuously changing parking patterns within the Waterfront Community.
