TSI Principal David Markley served as Associate Director for Transportation and consultant to the 1990 Goodwill Games with responsibilities that extended from early conceptual planning through development of venue access and parking operation plans including permit processing, approval and ultimate event day operations for this international invitational sporting event at thirteen venues involving 2,500 athletes and 1.2 million spectators over seventeen days. This work involved management of media and athlete’s bus systems; a 1000 vehicle fleet supporting the official shuttle and motor pools to accommodate athletes, media, sponsors, diplomats, officials and spectators; and the international logistics center for all event and venue support materials.
